Did you know that God is after your heart above all else? Why your heart and not your mind or your marital status or your family? Why is God after your heart?
The Bible says that out of the heart, the mouth speaks. (Matt. 12:34) Jesus also said that everything that goes into us doesn’t defile us, but that which comes out of our heart does.
Above all else, guard your heart. For out of it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23
“Above all else..” like it is the most important thing to do, guard your heart. Your heart is where we live and dream. It’s also where things can fester and bitterness can grow if not well kept. We have to be careful the issues of life don’t affect our heart. Your heart can sway you and it is not to be trusted but we can protect it!
GOD IS AFTER YOUR HEART
Remember that! His love pursues us and He cares about that which concerns us because it affects our heart.
This is why the word says to “pray without ceasing”(I Thess. 5:17) All throughout the day just having dialogue with God that is faith filled and keeping us listening to Him, aware of Him and leaning in to Him.
The quicker we can give things to God and move on, the better our days can flow. The word says “His yoke is easy and His burden is light.” Which just means He comes to lighten your load. Let Him help carry the load with you as you walk with Him and learn from Him.
The Bible says troubles will come and almost even more so, now that you are walking with Him and because of His purposes on your life. The enemy is now against you and he is using people and circumstances to come against you – but God!
“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?”
Romans 8:31
Don’t get me wrong. Life gets hard, He gets seemingly quiet and sometimes there feels to be no one around us who cares or knows our pain. (Keyword there is feels). Feelings are very real indicators but not to be our guide. So when these dark times inevitably come, we can walk right on THROUGH victoriously as God is with us. I love reading Psalms 23 during these trying seasons.
We have a wonderful Counselor in Him! He is after our heart and all the dealings that go on with us and affect our heart.
Life will throw things at us but He is with us giving us supernatural peace and wisdom. Give Him your hearts burdens (big and small), rest in His faithful promises strung all throughout scripture and just know that when that rough season comes – you’ve got someone to turn to and you are not alone!
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37
