Here Now

How often do you think of the future as where your happiness will be? Do you long for the future, to only get to the future and keep longing for another future moment?

I am horrible about staying present. Re-hashing the past and always looking to the future achievements as where my happiness will be.

I can with utmost confidence say that this is not Gods plan for us. Scripture tells us a story of Him and with us being contented with just Him. Over and over scripture tells us to rest in Him, abide in Him, look to Him, fear not and trust Him.

Just a couple examples:

“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.””
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Here. Now. Jesus said He left us with His Holy Spirit to be with us. We can lean on Him and find contentment, joy and peace. Right here, right now.

Let’s live our best lives and be present in the here and now! Just a friendly reminder to you today.

“You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  1. HAHA! this spoke to me directly. Just earlier today, I was fantasizing what would happen if my blog were to take off. I was dreaming about getting a car or getting my own house or finally working from home. However, it occupied so much of my time that I lost myself in the future and wasn’t aware of the present. The Lord wants us to give us his best at the present. Because the future isn’t guaranteed. Only the Lord promises the future. I hope that the Lord may give me a bright future. Amen to this blog post
